What we collect

Nothing. Eye Rest has no analytics, no crash-reporting service, and zero third-party tracking libraries. We do not collect your name, email, device identifiers, location, or usage data.

What stays on your device

• Your stats (rests taken, rests skipped, screen time) are stored only on your Mac, in the app's Application Support folder. They are never uploaded or transmitted.
• Your settings and Pro status (a simple on/off flag) are stored locally. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Camera and microphone

To pause your breaks automatically during meetings, Eye Rest checks a single system signal — whether a camera or microphone is currently in use by any app. It never opens a camera or microphone, never accesses any audio or video, and never records anything. It only reads the "in use right now" state provided by macOS.

The one time Eye Rest talks to the internet

Eye Rest is otherwise fully offline. The single exception is license activation, which only happens when you paste a license key to unlock Pro. At that moment, the app sends that key to the seller (Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy, or Paddle) to verify it's valid. No personal information is sent — only the key you typed. This is purchase functionality, not data collection.

No ads, no sharing, no sale of data

Because we collect no data, there is nothing to sell, share, or hand to advertisers. There are no ads in Eye Rest.

Children

Eye Rest is safe for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
